INSET from Bolton Music Service:

Music Unlimited

We have developed partnership working with Music Unlimited to provide specialist input into Special Schools. see their website for further details.

Resources and delivery

The Music Service employs professionally qualified staff with many years first hand experience of working with colleagues in schools. All staff are employed under national teachers' pay and conditions. The teachers are experts in their field and many are locally and nationally recognised. There is an ongoing development process that ensures that staff are up to date with local and national initiatives and are committed to customer care. The nature of the subject is such that teachers are also regularly engaged in practising or performing in their particular area of expertise. Delivery of the service is predominantly on individual school sites or at the Music Centre with occasional off-site provision as required e.g. co-ordinator meetings and performance opportunities. Music Unlimited provides specialist teaching for young people in special schools.

The Music Service is part of the Local Authority and as such is bound by the rules and standards set down by the Authority in various policy and guidance documents that may be amended from time to time. These documents can be made available to schools on request. Any information gathered as a result of work undertaken as part of this agreement will not be shared with any third party without the consent of the school.
