Bolton Junior Youth Orchestra
Bolton Youth Orchestra
New Century Strings
Musical Director: Mrs S Reed
New Century Strings is Bolton’s Youth String Orchestra for more advanced players. The ensemble studies and performs a wide range of String repertoire from across the historical, stylistic and cultural spectrum including students’ own compositions. The main aim is for members to develop their musical, technical and ensemble skills and to enjoy music making at a high level. A small part of each rehearsal is given to groupwork during which students develop their creative musical skills in a more self-directed way. The ensemble has regular weekly rehearsals which are supplemented by additional courses and workshops from time to time. back to top
