World Percussion Presentations - Key Stage 1 & 2
The whole school can experience an interactive session offering an introduction to a variety of percussion and drums from around the world.
Aimed at developing musical knowledge, concentrating on pulse & rhythm. Includes a demonstration of a selection of instruments & the opportunity for several children to have a hands on experience.
Presentation length: 35 minutes.
World Percussion Presentations - Key Stage 3 & 4
An interactive session offering an insight into African, Latin American & Indonesian percussion.
Aimed at extending students knowledge of musical structures, genres, styles & traditions from different cultures.
Includes a demonstration of a selection of instruments and the opportunity for several students to have a hands on experience.
Presentation length: 45 minutes.
Workshops - Key Stage 1
An introduction and exploration of percussion instruments & their varied sounds.
Aimed at developing listening skills & recognising the musical elements of pulse, pitch, tempo & dynamics.
Workshop length 30 minutes.

Workshops - Key Stage 2
A lively session aimed at extending pupils musical experience & knowledge.
The workshop introduces a variety of hand percussion, African & Latin American drums and investigates the musical ideas of pulse, rhythm, timbre and dynamics.
Workshop length: 45 minutes.
1 class per session.
African Drumming & Samba Workshops
Suitable for Key Stage 2 (Years 5 & 6) & Key Stage 3 & 4.
These sessions offer a greater focus and concentrate on exploring and developing the rhythms of West Africa and Brazil.
Aimed at further developing listening and performing skills, concentrating on structure, texture, drumming techniques & the ensemble playing of layered rhythms.
Workshop length optional: 1 or 2 hours.
